Wednesday Dec. 9, 1942 Dear uncle Chas, Forgive me if I allude just once more to Christian Science and your difficulty. In a recent issue of the Sentinel I found the enclosed editorial. It states quite clearly a point which has held up some of my healings. How to meet your own troubles and yet shut out all sense of Self is not so easy. There are many approaches to prayer--right desire, an humble, unselfish asking, declaration of Truth and denial of error, perhaps, just a simple and complete acknowledgement of Gods allness. Quiet reflection will reveal which best meets your immediate need and then go on from there. Hope this article will prove of some interest and help to you. And remember it is God who doeth the work, and not the vehemence of your prayer which gives it power. You have only to keep the windowpane clean and remain receptive--let the light shine in. Well, my apology for violating the promise of my last letter. An heavy fog has kept us on the ground for three days now. If I can just get in two days and a night of flying I'll be all through.
