press box and waving my cap. Wish that I had heard them sooner. Iowa won their game quite handily, using only straight football. However, I am still doubtful of their leadership and quarterbacking. The game against Nebraska this week will tell the story. Tom Louden, from Fairfield, who is in V-7 training at Abbott Hall in Chicago, got into town late in the afternoon Sat., so the boys put on a little party out at Tiffin that night. Sunday morning I went to church in Iowa City, greeting Mrs. Wienecke, Mrs. Bradley, et al, then after dinner I took the trolley to C. Rapids. Clarke met me at the station and drove me back to his bungalow where Mary and the kids were just finishing their noon repast. Mike has grown quite a bit, but Portia even more so-and both of them are cuter than you can imagine. Truly, they have a fine little family. I always enjoy visiting them. Sunday
