I took a cab to the Morrison Hotel and was fortunate enough to get a fine room with bath on the 12th floor for $2.75, mainly because Jim Harris had wired the chief clerk for me. This fellow always took care of the team when we stopped there while I was in school, and he never fails to call me by name whenever I put up there. The lobby was crowded, everybody trying to get a room, so I felt highly thankful for the service. I took a stroll before going to bed. Am always interested in watching the people. Had an ice cream sundae with nuts at a Walgreen Drug store, then turned in. In the morning, following a protracted sleep, I called Aunt Mary, dashed off a note to you folks, and took a cab to the station an hour beforehand . Like
