Sunday Oct 4, 1942 Dear Mother, Yesterday I finally managed to get your wings wrapped and mailed. They are not as dainty and exquisite as I would like them to be; in fact they look and are, quite inexpensive. However, on this station I was not able to find anything better. If I am able to find anything better in the next few months (?) before going to sea I shall promptly purchase them for you. In the same package with the wings you will find an hand wrought Indian bracelet with turquoise settings. I want you to have it and hope that you will find it suitable for a woman of your maturity to wear it. If such
