Ens - AOTC - VF Unit Cecil Field - Jacksonville Fla Sat morning Oct 10, 1942 Dear Ben, Your letter reached me at Norfolk on last Tuesday. The following day all members of the advanced carrier training group were detached for Jacksonville. The why and wherefore of this move I am not certain, but certainly I am all for it. Norfolk was too large and too crowded. Were I to use all the superlatives at my command you still wouldn't see the picture unless you had been stationed there. What I have thus far seen of Jax looks very good - clean, not too crowded, several good eating houses and two or three decent theatres. Just what
