Saving...
3 Sunday afternoon we strolled down to the athletic field to see the football game between the air station and Spence Field, an army camp. We only stayed for the first quarter, the navy boys having them badly outclassed. Am hoping that they won't be after me to play. Really doubt if they will, since I am staying so far out. This morning we all finished checking in and caught a bus which brought us out here. So have gone the days since Thursday. Just before leaving Norfolk I read in Esquire a little piece by Emel Ludwig in which he said that in order to write good prose a man should practice writing verse. So on the way down on the train I thought I would give it a try. I enclose my lines not because I think them good but just for your enjoyment, just because I know that George will say "isn't it corny." I believe I told you how eager Marvin is about flying and how fast and low he led us in a dummy strafing
