Saving...
Wednesday 1200 Oct 21, 1942 Dear Mother, That which we feared has come upon us. Although we have been commissioned ensigns we are once again subject to cadet restrictions and are required to wear white cap covers with our khaki working uniform to indicate that we are still under instruction. Such is our status until we finish this operational training business. Don't anticipate that the 2200 evening liberty curfew will work any particular hardship on me; I probably wouldn't want to go anywhere anyhow. However, the new program includes compulsory athletics once again, and I find myself without any tennis shoes. Would you please see if you can find that old pair of white moccasin type tennis shoe I brought home from Miami, my blue shorts, a couple of pair of sweat sox and send them to me Sorry to bother you so much with this
