However, they are removing most of the PBYs from combat areas and are using more and more PBMs and PB2Ys which are pretty fair ships. Frankly, I think this type of duty would be best for you. You would get invaluable multiple motor experience, and I think navigation will be right down your alley - and there would be a possibility of getting based somewhere in the U.S. It is quite probable that your choice in the matter won't count for much anyhow, but if you want P boats be sure and hit celestial "nav." for 4.0. Now there aren't any real soft spots in naval aviation, and if there were I wouldn't wage you to seek them. However, it is quite legitimate for a man to try to get the duty which most appeals to him, and if it doesn't take him into the hottest areas so much the better. So don't let any
