Besides buying the book "America's Strategy in World Politics." please also get Mabel Dominick's book on the Bible for me. Mother can tell you what I have in mind. The weather here is quite pleasant - warm and comfortable during the day and cool in the evening. However, I miss the fall weather of the midwest, the burning leaves, the weiner roasts, and all that sort of thing. Wish I get home for Xmas, but its not very likely. Maybe at sea by then. The war news is most encouraging on all fronts. Hope that we can completely clean out the Germans in Africa and before long get an advance started in Burma and China. Regaining our territory from Japan island by island would be poor strategy and well nigh impossible. I watch with interest the statements and actions of the Republican leaders. Why the old guard won't jump on Wilkies bandwagon I don't know. If they pick some stooge like this Werner Schroeder to succeed Martin as national chairman it would be a crime.
