will be made to keep me from going to Miami, but after that time will only tell. I need not mention football to clear the picture for you. So help me, I'd rather bomb Tokyo singlehanded than come back here & play football--but, perhaps, it will all turn out better than things now indicate. After the meeting I drove out to Ellyson Field and checked into squadron two. While in this squadron we stay right at the field, eating, sleeping, marching, in the same manner as at the main base. The next morning was spent in listening to indoctrination lectures, and getting cockpit checkouts in SNVs & OS2Us.
