Mon. night June 15, 1942 Dear Ben, This will be a rather short note in answer to the questions you put me in your last letter. I shan't include any news, for I plan to write the whole family at length later tonight, or tomorrow. I can't speak with too much assurance concerning what clothes it would be best for you to take to Calif., because they may not be running the pre-flight schools the same as the elimination bases. I think it would be wise for you to ask at the Naval Air Corps recruiting office. However, based on my experience I would make the following suggestions. Take nothing more than is necessary to get you there comfortably. In all probability you will be told to send your civilian clothes home. If you have
