And yet, with everything we hold dear at stake - human dignity and freedom, democratic government and a way of life - in spite of all this we see our administration playing politics, refusing to levy the taxes, put a ceiling on prices, act on the rubber problem, and in general welshing on their responsibility of making this country sacrifice in the measure necessary to win the war. It is a sad, sad situation - deplorable. And yet at the moment the whole mess only serves to turn my thoughts to tender, cherished recollections.
