There is no reason why I shouldn't be able to have a good time some how or another. Do you folks know anyone down that way? Have been wondering whether I should take my car back with me. True, it insures me a certain degree of independence and is a great convenience to me, but the trip home will leave the tires pretty well worn & gas on the east coast will become more & more of a problem. We can talk this over when I get home. All told I shall have 21 days between the time I leave here & the time I must report at Norfolk. Marvin, who got the same orders, & I plan to drive night & day until we get to St. Louis. There he will catch a train & I shall cut across to K.C. for a day or two. This is all tentative of course, including our finishing date on Sept 5th or 7th You will be glad to know that I am getting along quite ok with the Brewster now. We start
