Thursday July 28th. 1864- This day is the first cloudy one we have had for a long time it sprinkeled a little about noon but not sufficient to lay the dust - I think we shall have rain tonight as it is thundering - Yesterday our co was on picket at the state line bridge - We had plenty of lady visitors the first that came were ladies in search of some Soldiers who had stolen Twenty one pounds of coffee and sold it for eleven dollars and fifty cents - I think they did not find them although I wish they might
