after Sturgis defeat by the citizens - A coat was found where the bush whackers were fired into several weeks ago and in the pocket was a list of names of the persons who had killed colored soldiers & how many also where the arms were hid - So they have a clue to where they are - Heisey Crane and our Co. officers formed a new mess yesterday - the hospital mess is too large. Day before yesterday I receiv. a letter from Sister Mary, she and Amanda are at Nashville in the hospital - I suppose Mrs Wittenmeyer will be in Memphis soon Would like to see her. 21, days yet.
