yesterday a scout went out to Sommerville where they found a number of reb sympathisers - one a merchant they cleaned out his store. They brought in forty or fifty negroes - another scout has gone out this morning for what purpose I do not know - Our company was on picket last night, and as there might be a prospect of an assault The reserve post took up about 20 feet of the planking on the bridge. We have but 8 days longer to serve. I do not know what time we will return to B- received 4 letters yesterday two from home. One from Waite. One from S Coulter
