Saturday Jan.10, 1942 Dear Grandma: I hope you won't think that I ignore your letters, or that I have forgotten. Quite on the contrary, I have thought of you many times, but have purposely postponed writing you for this reason. When I was home for Christmas--and, oh, what a happy time that was--mother told me you were sending some money of which I was to have a certain share. Therefore, I decided to wait until it was forwarded to me and then thank you in one fell swoop for everything. With the major portion of the seven dollars you so graciously sent my way I bought a rugged, brown leather zipper case for my Bible & Science & Health. I needed something to protect my books from the rather rough treatment they are apt to get in the next few years--but in
