a minute in radio on Friday. Feel that I am now getting the hang of it & should progress more rapidly. Incidentally, they gave a physics quiz the second day we were here which if you passed with a 3 pt or better relieved you of going to class the 1st 2 weeks. It was an open book quiz making it quite easy if you used your head a little. I managed to get a 3.4--there were only about 5 out of 80 who bettered a 3 pt. Am anxious to hear what Ben did or is planning to do. You didn't indicate for certain whether he enlisted or not. Glad to hear George is on the beam again. Four buckets is nice going. Haven't gotten my sox as yet. Perhaps, I'll get them tomorrow morning. Will have no need for my civilian clothes after getting to Pensacola. Will ship them home in my suitcase one of these days. Thanks for your fine long letter, mother--and especially for the Biblical comment & historical analysis. Don't have time for reading of my own anymore. Things go well. Love to all. Yours, Nile Enclosed are some pictures taken in K.C.--not so good. N.O. Times-Picayune took a picture of Mel Ott & me when he visited the base the other day. I didn't see if but heard it was pretty good. Maybe you'll want to write for it.
