2 of black velvet. In a few days or so 6:30 won't even seem so early for convening class, because indications of daybreak will be all around us. But now, it seems like the dead of night. And what is this first class about? Well, this week it is about the propeller and the accessory division of the power plant of an airplane. At 7:30 we head for the gunnery range, where on successive days we have taken our turn at shooting a pistol, blasting away at clay pigeons with a shotgun, and shooting a .30 calibre Browning machine gun at varying targets. With the pistol and machine gun I have ranked with the average, but with the shot gun, it was very sad. I missed so many they suggested that I give up and try again at a later date. It was all somewhat humiliating to me. Outside of singing I can't think of anything at which I do worse. It is really no laugh, you know. Guns and shooting
