for training if you get a chance. We get a try at the pistol, shot gun, and .30 calibre machine gun. Unhappily, I'm no Dan Boone. As you suggest, there is a good probability you will spend 3 months at Iowa City. I think you will enjoy it - a chance to get in good shape, and in a town where you will know a few people. I shall intend to send you a few numbers of interest should liberty ever hang on your hands. So glad my letter helped you with the physical exam. Any time you feel any need of advice or encouragement along this line just let me know. My experience in this respect has been deeper than you know. Enclosed is a check which I hope will intensify your "spring drive." It is little enough, but it may help - and rest assured it takes no sacrifice on my part, so demur not.
