the base, but Pettit & I elected to go out for dinner anyway. We stopped at a little place called Mortons about halfway in to town. It is back off the road about a quarter of mile, and is uncrowded and quiet. We each had a large western cut steak and french fries, setting us back one lettuce leaf a piece. I haven't had such a tender, delicious steak for a good long time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, wish that you might have been with us. Afterwards we drove on into Pensacola for a brief look around and then back out to the base around 10:30. Pensacola is really a "corny" town, not even the shows are any good. The total choice last night consisted of "Riders on the Range", "In the Heart of the Rio Grande" and "Philadelphia Story" which was pretty good -
