Saturday April 4 (?) 1942 Dear People, Tomorrow is Easter and liberty has been granted to us all. Whether it is the significance of this particular Sunday, or a forecast of bad weather, which has brought this first free weekend in almost a month, I do not know, but in any event I shall have a chance to get to church and to sleep a little more. I wish very much that I might be on hand to share your dinner tomorrow. The primary squadron in which I shall be taking my flight training for the next 6 weeks or so is located Northwest of Pensacola about 8 or ten miles, and is known as Saufley field. The station has several of these auxiliary fields for primary training all positioned several miles from the main base. If you are interested, you can place Saufley field by putting your pencil right at the head of Perdido Bay near the Alabama - Florida state line.
