Tuesday May 12, 1942 Dear People, First let me acknowledge your fine letters - a long one from each of you. Never have I appreciated hearing from people as I do now. A letter is a matter of major importance to just about every cadet. Regardless of how busy I may get, I shall do my utmost to maintain my correspondence. It is a source of much pleasure to me. I recite all this not to spur you to write again immediately. Quite on the contrary, I want to tell you that you folks are very probably just as busy as I am, and that I don't expect you to do the impossible. Poor old Gus, you must be about worn out. What a list of duties you have to meet! And your air warden position - what a noble post! Why, I say to Bob every now and then - is your father warden
