come. If I get fleet duty I shall get a leave & come up to see you. If I get some other type of duty I probably would have to go to work the next day, thus would have no time to see & visit with you. You say that Ben & Ellie are just about entangled. I think it a good match and power to him - and her. As for me - the time will come, perhaps, don't despair! Just to show you that my impression on the fairer sex is not completely nil, I enclose a letter from E. Charlton which gives some indication of my efforts this fall - and I wasn't in high gear at all! Not so long ago I asked her to send me a Hawkeye which she did. It is a fine book, excellent in fact. Shall try to send it along to you one of these days. Also enclosed is some other matter which pretty much speaks for itself. Again, thanks for the golf clubs, Gus.
