a blow to Ben to find that he is going to be sent to California. It really is too bad, for he will find it pretty lonesome. I, too, had envisaged happy weekends for Ellie and him in C. Rapids. Mayhaps something will work out yet. I didn't write you over the weekend thinking that I would have plenty of time the forepart of this week. However, I find that this instrument flying with the radio range involved presents difficulties that I have to ponder over in the evening. Am now getting the theory & procedure ironed out, so have more time. I'll try to bring you up to date on my doings for the past few days. Finally having received my whites, Bob & I sallied forth from the base Sat. night for the first time in three weeks. We concurred in a predominating desire for an extraordinarily good meal. Out
