Thursday 9-19-40 Dear Gus: I have hesitated to write this letter because I have been afraid that the questions I ask might alter plans you have already made. However, I hope you will view them quite impersonally. It develops that I probably should have a car down here for reasons that I shan't elaborate. They are personal reasons & the athletic dep't has said nothing. I have been making some inquiry about second hand cars - I even wrote Joe Stump.
