October 23, 1940 Dear SB: Ben Gibson of the Nebraska Clthing has just phoned me that they would like very much to make a full display of your trophies during the week preseding the Iowa-Nebr. game, that is, during the week of November 4th to 9th. The display should be of quite considerable interest to the folk of this district, particularly at that time, and I hope that it will be possible to have the two travelling trophies. Will you write at once to your old friend Christy Walsh and ask for the Captain's Cup? If you do not wish to bother I will be glad to do it, with your consent. Also will you ask the Athletic Department to send the All-College trophy for this exhibition. I suppose that the Captain's Cup is still on display at the Fair, but I understand that tho Fair closes late in October, so if Christy will be prompt and has not already promised it somewhere else, it ought to be available. Any expense of shipment will be borne by the Nebraska Clthing. I assume that Christy has insurance on the piece. I believe that I mentioned this point before but will touch on it again. Will you agree that it is OK to show the All-American sweater if the card states that the original was given to the lad in the hospital, whose name escapes me just now? That seems to mo to be alright if the explanation is made because of the publicity given to the gift of the original. The trophies mentioned above may be sent to mo or to tho Nebrraska Clothing store. Mother and George are going back to Adel this after noon. George has vacation the balance of the week because of teachers convention. Mother wants to consult Florence Weaver on plans to redecorate the interior of our humble home. I have had no word from anyone about the two extra tickets for the Nebraska game that I recently inquired for. It was a fine letter that you wrote to George. We are very happy about the progress he is making in all lines. Love Pop
