The thermometer was hammered down below zero, and the cold was intensified by a raw wind baling out of the north. I asked the garage to haul in my car again this afternoon. There must be a short somewhere, or else the battery is completely shot. Early this evening when I wanted to open my locker, I found that I had failed to remove my locker keys from the ring on which the car keys are hung. Consequently, I had to borrow this stationery and pen from Bob. Finished up my sixth hour of instruction this morning. We shot landings the whole hour, and I feel that I have definitely begun to get the feel of it. In fact they should be quite easy after a little more practice. It is fun, Gus; I am getting a real thrill out of it. Wish you were aboard to share my enthusiasm. On Saturday it was so cold that all the boys wore face masks, including myself.
