we have common military drill, followed by radio code, then trigonometry & finally, engine practice or instruments. The ground school & flight training here is a sort of an elimination program. They spend just enough time on you to determine whether it is worthwhile for you to continue. If, at the end of six or eight weeks, you have progressed satisfactorily, you are sent to an advanced training base in the south. In the short while I have been here I have had no flying instruction and only a little class work, so can't tell you how I am getting along. Rather think I shall get along OK, however. At four oclock each afternoon we are free until ten that night to do what we like - to study, write letters, read, or even go to town if we wish. We used
