February 26, 1940 Professor H.J. Thornton Chairman of the Liberal Arts Committee on Law Scholarships My dear Professor Thornton: Mr. Nile Kinnick informs me that he is applying for a Freshman Law Scholarship. Mr. Kinnick has been a major in the Department of Economics where his scholastic record has been outstanding. I believe he has every attribute that would make him worthy of this award. In my opinion there can be no question as to his scholastic ability, his personality, and his gentlemanly conduct. It is with unusual pleasure that I recommend him to your committee for favorable consideration. Very sincerely yours, George D. Haskell GDH:L
