CARL G. SEASHORE APPOINTEE PRESIDENT'S FIELD STAFF PHOENIX MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 111 W. WASHINGTON ST. February 28, 1940 Mr. Nile Kinnick 128 E. Brown Street Iowa City, Iowa Dear Niles May I take this occasion to again thank you for your excellent contribution to our Alumni banquet at the Edgewater Beach Hotel this past week. Without going into any eulogies about yourself, because you have heard plenty of those in the past few months, I do wish to tell you that both you and Erwin were undoubtedly an inspiration to everyone present and we do feel that the bulk of the success of the banquet was due to your willingness and cooperation. It was heartening to me to have you say that you expect to locate in Iowa. Unquestionably, you will be offered attractive jobs in many different localities, but your place is in Iowa, not only for the inspiration and leadership which you can afford the state, but also because you can achieve a more than adequate measure of success in Iowa. Thanks again, and will you give my best regards to Mrs. Ford. Cordially yours, Carl Seashore Jr. Carl G. Seashore Ex - President of University of Iowa Club of Chicago CGS:rw
