The First Presbyterian Church 1702 IOWA STREET DAVENPORT. IOWA March 18, 1940. Mr. Nile Kinnick A. F. I. University of Iowa Iowa City. Iowa My dear Friend: I have been for writing you ever since your visit here, but I have been more than swamped in my Lenten and Easter work. I cannot tell you how very much we appreciated your splendid message and the way in which you presented it. It was more than good of you to take time from your crowded university life to be with us that evening. I have gone in and out of the parish and have heard many fine words of praise from all of those who heard you. You may be interested to know that one man who was greatly influenced by your words took the step of uniting with the church yesterday. We shall watch your future with greatest interest. Whether or not you turn professional in football, I feel personally that this will only be a step to something greater if you go on as you are doing at the present time, and you have my best wishes for your future success. Again thanking you, Sincerely yours, Alfred S. Nickless ASH:MM
