January 17, 1946 Commander Paul Buie, USN, Box 1, NAAdTraCom, NAS Jacksonville, Fla. Dear Commander Buie: We appreciate very much your kindness in telling us in more detail the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of our son Nile on the morning of 2 June, 1943. You have, of course, been thru many trying experiences since that training cruise and have had little reason to remember the details that seem so vital to us. Therefore, We are very grateful to you for the splendid letter you have written us in response to my inquiry of December 31. 1 hope that the Commanding Officer of the Lexington and the BuPers will respond to your request for information on the exact location of Nile's crash. Thank you again, and our best wishes to you always. Sincerely N.C. Kinnick
