Kinnick is holding the Maxwell trophy received at Philadelphia while the Heiseman award, an all-American plaque, and a key to the city of Philadelphia can be seen on the table in front of the halfback. (Press-Citizen Engraving).[/caption] * * * * * * * * * * All-Iowa Football Banquet Monday Night to Start at 5:30 in Memorial Union ----------------------- Serving of the all-Iowa football banquet Monday night at the memorial union will start promptly at 5:30 o'clock, the committee in charge of arrangements announced today. The early serving will allow the program following the banquet to start at 6:30 o'clock and will close in ample time for those in attendance to get to the fieldhouse in time to see the start of the Ohio State-Iowa basketball game which starts at 8 o'clock. In addition to the entire football squad, the guest list includes: President and Mrs. Eugene A. Gilmore, Professor and Mrs. Karl E. Leib; Mr. and Mrs. Nile Kinnick, Senior, of Omaha; Professor and Mrs. E. G. Schroeder, Doctor and Mrs. Eddie Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carideo, Mr. and Mrs. James Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Boland, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Devine, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Swenson, Robert Allen, Bill Hofer, Dean Robert E. Rienow, Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Galiher, Doctor and Mrs. W. W. Hayne, Mr. and Mrs. Elwin K. Shain, Joe Laws, Attorney Willis Glassgow, Jack Drees, and Wilfrid Smith. Governor and Mrs. George A. Wilson will be unable to attend the party. The lounge of the memorial union will be opened at 5 o'clock and those holding banquet tickets will have an opportunity to see Nile Kinnick's trophies which will be on display. Following the dinner Dr. George Scanlon, chairman of the committee in charge of the party, will introduce Professor Leib, who will act as toastmaster of the program. A short talk will be given by Doctor Anderson followed by the presentation of the "most valuable player award" to Kinnick by Wilfrid Smith, Chicago Tribune sports writer. Kinnick also will speak. Laws and Glassgow, former University of Iowa football stars, will sit at the speaker's table and will be introduced. They both are former winners of this "most valuable player award." Jack Drees, former Iowa basketball star, now sports announcer for station WJJD, Chicago, also will be introduced. Tickets for Monday's banquet are still available at Racine's No. 1, Whetstone's No. 1, Gibbs' drug store, the Hotel Jefferson, and the office of the secretary of the chamber of commerce. The Altrusa club Friday reserved a table for members and the Rotary club of Cedar Rapids this morning purchased a group of tickets. Reservations of special tables for groups or organizations can be made by calling university extension 8218.
