SATURDAY, MARCH 19, 1864 At leaving Uncle Eldred gave me $6.00. On the cars got several papers. In St. Louis buy two. Got Hannah Thurston at the Library. Read until very late. SUNDAY 20 Attended church and class. Finished Hannah Thurston. Like some parts of it exceedingly. But cannot [endores?] much of it. It glories in [Womans?] weakness. MONDAY 21 Read from Ingelows Poems. Finished my writing, to leave tomorrow. M- did not come to say good by.
