SUNDAY, AUGUST 7. 1864. Went with Manda and Charlie P- to No 1. Enjoyed the service and the ride very much. On the whole - the most pleasant Sabbath since leaving home. MONDAY 8 Our surroundings so pleasant that I almost fear they will not last. TUESDAY 9 Came here expecting to be self denying, but find myself in the most comfortable condition imaginable.
